Four Manitoba organizations will receive more than $7.5 million in federal funding to aid continued growth.

CentrePort Canada Inc., Manitoba Music, North Forge Technology Exchange and Economic Development Winnipeg are the recipients, Dan Vandal, Winnipeg MP and minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada, announced Friday.

“We are working with partners and businesses to create good jobs by increasing investment, enhancing production and encouraging innovation,” Vandal said during a news conference at New Media Manitoba. “Manitoba’s economic well-being depends on exports and it depends on trade.”

North Forge, a non-profit public fabrication lab headquartered in the Exchange District, will use the $2.07-M it’s receiving to enhance incubator and accelerator programming to grow innovation in the province.
