North Forge has once again launched its Indigenous Entrepreneur Scholarship and will be taking applications until the end of the summer. Two lucky recipients of this scholarship will be provided with the opportunity to experience starting up a business first-hand and will have the opportunity to network with local business owners at the North Forge Fabrication Lab.
Over the course of this year-long learning opportunity, recipients of the scholarship will be provided with a 1-year membership to the largest public access Fabrication Lab in North America, the North Forge Fabrication Lab. The Fabrication Lab consists of six rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC wood cutters, and more. There’s also amples of space for members to work on their projects.
The North Forge Fabrication lab has everything a product visionary could ever need. Recipients of this scholarship will gain access to the Fab Lab for an entire year, where they can create to their heart’s content! They will also receive valuable training on how to operate this machinery safely.
Recipients will be completely submerged in a creative environment where they will be given the training, and the tools, they need to create whatever product may come to mind. The diverse group of creative thinkers at the Fabrication Lab will surround recipients with like-minded innovative thinkers who can help take their ideas from paper to product.
To help them along the way, recipients will also have access to our vast network of manufacturing and mentoring experts. Our Manufacturing Mentor will help guide recipients through their training, while also introducing them to other members at the Fabrication Lab. Through networking with the Fabrication lab members and mentors, future job opportunities could potentially arise from this scholarship.
If you’re seeking the opportunity to grow as an entrepreneur, learn valuable training in modern production machinery, or to network with local business owners, the Indigenous Entrepreneur Scholarship is the perfect program for you.
