FXR Racing is a dynamic, rapidly growing, privately held Manitoba company. Originating in Morris, Manitoba, founder Milt Reimer came up with the idea after noticing there was a need in the market for high-performance snow rider wear. The 17-year-old designed some items and had them produced by a local garment manufacturer. By 2005, as the FXR line had grown so much that production was moved offshore.
Today, FXR designs, markets, sells, produces and distributes trending apparel and protective gear for the power sports industry (primarily snowmobile and motocross) in Canada, USA and Europe. All products are still designed here in Manitoba, at the head office in Winnipeg. Following the creative design process, partners in Asia take the designs from creative concepts to real prototypes. Most of the product development and production takes place in Seoul, Korea, but FXR works with 40 vendors in 10 countries to produce the product it designs, tests and brings to market.
Recently, FXR joined North Forge to acquire access to development equipment, which they will use to prototype new products. “With having access to a facility like this, we can develop products quickly and efficiently,” says Head of Product Development, Eric Metrow. “We can keep up with the demand for new product testing and development to ensure high-quality products for our customers.”
This season marks the 25th anniversary in the industry for FXR; they are currently designing products for the 2021/22 seasons.
“FXR is looking forward to working with North Forge so we can continue to be leaders in the industry,” says Metrow. “Our membership will give us access to many different machines to help produce prototypes. We are eager to work with knowledgeable people at North Forge to help us grow as a company to build technical gear for every consumer.”
FXR distributes products through power sports dealers, its own retail stores and through FXR web store at www.fxrracing.com.
