This course is open to anyone who wishes to learn the basic safety, and operating procedures for the CNC Plasma table in a friendly, safe, and all inclusive environment. New Canadians, LGBTT, and all others are welcome to sign up, and participate. There is a brief safety orientation, a demo period, and the remaining time is spent with as much hands-on as possible to help in the training process.
**Do note, that non-members of the Fabrication Lab may find the training is less applicable to other pieces of equipment due to the many different operating platforms for CNC equipment in the world. If you’re intending on becoming a member, and want training before getting started this is the best opportunity to do so!**
Requirements:
Safety equipment is provided on-site, however it is a good idea to come wearing long pants, ideally jeans that are free of holes, and you don’t mind if they get singed, or burned. Safety shoes are required, and if you don’t have your own, steel slip-on caps are available for use! If you have a small, simple vector design (Approx. 6″x6″) you’d like to cut out we can do that, otherwise we’ll cut a simple “NF” North Forge decal for you to keep if you wish, or recycle if you don’t!
The course is $28.50, which includes applicable taxes.
