A Block Above: FabLab Alumnus Supports New Router Table

North Forge is thrilled to announce a new addition to the Bockstael Carpentry Room at the North Forge FabLab™ — the Mast-R-Lift II router table, made possible thanks to the generous support of Block Therapy.

Block Therapy, one of the FabLab’s standout success stories, began crafting their signature “Block Buddies” during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Designed to melt through fascia restrictions caused by aging, injury, and surgery, the Block Buddy is a therapeutic tool used in tandem with diaphragmatic breathing and body weight. The practice, created by retired athletic therapist and Manitoban Deanna Hansen, improves blood and oxygen flow to cells — and has helped thousands across the globe reconnect with their bodies.

As demand for their blocks grew, so did their need for equipment. But FabLab members won’t be left without a replacement piece of equipment. In a full-circle moment, Block Therapy generously contributed toward the purchase of a brand-new Mast-R-Lift II router table, ensuring current and future makers have access to the tools they need to innovate, build, and scale — just like Block Therapy did.

Thank you to Deanna and the entire Block Therapy team for investing back into the community that helped them grow.
