Bio
Rosalie Harms’ has over 25 years of professional experience in financial management, business advising and consulting, economic development, teaching, and workshop development and facilitation for both the private and not for profit sectors in multiple industries. Rosalie combines her commercial and business lending background with her accounting experience to assist clients in developing realistic strategic plans and financial projections for both new ventures and expansionary projects.
In 2009, she began and continues to manage a successful consulting practice specializing in supporting new start-ups with financial management and internal control, securing funding and general business coaching and support. The business merged in 2021 with another partner forming a new corporation, The Griffin Group (of which she is the managing partner), resulting in expanded company services that now include tax consulting and advice, tax preparation and fractional CFO / controller services.
In addition to her entrepreneurial pursuits, Rosalie is the former Department Chair of the Department of Business and Administration, in the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Winnipeg. Under Rosalie’s leadership the department grew from 14 to 25 full time faculty members and has 1, 200 declared majors. In her ongoing role as a faculty member, Rosalie teaches in the areas of entrepreneurship and accounting. She has contributed to numerous textbooks as a subject matter expert within these disciplines. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (legacy CMA) (CPA, CMA) and CMC (Certified Management Accountant) and also holds a an undergraduate degree in Administrative Studies and Economics from the University of Winnipeg in addition to an MBA from the I.H. Asper School of Management at the University of Manitoba. She is also currently a General Partner for WEL MB a private equity group investing in new start-ups, Vice President and Treasurer for the CMC MB council and new board member of the Jocelyn House Foundation.
